1. Riding in the wagon at Bantings Nursery picking out our new front porch trees.
2. We’ve been seeing lots of Baby Kate lately. I watched her again a couple of weeks ago while Erin was teaching, and I introduced her to the wonders of Mickey when she was here. She’s also started smiling a fair amount, so it’s now hard to decide when she’s cuter: awake or asleep. And she spent some quality time with her cousin on his old playmat at Nola and Nopsi’s earlier this week.
3. Supporting local business Hubig’s Pies, courtesy of Aunt Dawn, who sent the shirt. Thanks for thinking of him!
4. One of Riley’s favorite things to do: play on the front porch with “all the, all the sticks!”
5. Not nearly as interested in carving pumpkins this year…..he observed the process for a bit, but he much preferred playing with his micro machines and racecars.
6. Grandpa’s birthday lunch at Drago’s on November 1…..please note the little finger in the bottom left corner of the pic, pointing to the massive pile of whipped cream on the table. Both boys (and Mama, too) were in heaven shortly after I took this.
7. Jenn and Popo McF came to visit last weekend. SO good to see y’all, but our time with you was way too short. Please come back soon!
8. Cute boy waiting for Mama to put his shoes on and then outside after music class.
9. Check out the poster I spotted while waiting in line to vote on Tuesday at a local school: Beans and Sprouts!
10. Who would have thought this happy, smiling boy…..
…..who was lucky enough to discover a huge pile of river rocks outside of where we ate lunch on Wednesday…..
…..would wake up horribly sick with an awful stomach virus at midnight? Not his parents, that’s for sure. We both leapt out of bed to rush to his side, and none of us slept much more the rest of the night.
It was a tough night for all three of us, but especially for my sweet Riley-bean, who was sick 14 times in five hours. As I write this on Thursday mid-morning, we are laying low, watching lots of Mickey, and drinking our clear Pedialyte fluids to stay hydrated. All of my fingers and toes are crossed that he has a better night tonight and doesn’t relapse and that he gets better and back to normal soon. I hated seeing him so miserable.
Update at 7pm on Thursday: He took a three-hour nap this afternoon and ate some Cheerios and banana for dinner. He also had a fun bubble bath. He’s in bed and will hopefully sleep through the night with no issues.
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!
