Last Saturday was our annual breakfast with Santa outing, although this year we were able to attend the event at Riley’s school.
The breakfast was held in the gym, which looked so festive decked out in red and green and gold. There was a buffet of food in the middle of the room, half a dozen or so stations set up around the perimeter with different crafts and activities for the kids to do, and of course Santa was there for pictures.
Grandma and Grandpa came with us, and so did Uncle Steve, Aunt Jaimi, and Zac. It was a little chaotic at times, but I think everyone had a really fun morning.
Riley and Zac even won something from the parade of prizes!
We pushed Rory way past time for his morning nap; in fact, he essentially skipped it. But he hung in there and amused himself with the Christmas turtle bath toys the boys got from Santa, as well as the wrapping paper from the boys’ mystery gifts.
But the cutest part of the day was the fact that Riley’s classmate Alcee was also there with her parents. Those two are just so adorable together.
Alcee even got Riley to participate in a few of the activities. They decorated cupcakes for Jesus’ birthday and also made winter treat bags to carry their loot in.
Ms. Amanda has told me that Riley and Alcee have kind of a love-hate relationship: one minute they’re best friends playing well together and the next one of them is tattling on the other. But Alcee’s mom has also told me that she talks about Riley a lot when she’s at home. So. Cute.
Kenny and I agreed that this was the best Breakfast with Santa event we’ve been to, so I have a feeling we’ll be back at SCR for it again next year. It wasn’t overly crowded, the food was tasty, and there was a lot for the kids to do. I’ll post the official Santa picture when we receive it!
Thanks for coming with us, everyone; hope y’all had as much fun as we did!
