After the insanity that is the last day of school before Christmas break, I zoomed home, dropped the boys off with AD#1 (THANK YOU!!!), grabbed a few things, and went over to Dana’s. We caught an Uber from there to the Quarter and ended up being an hour late to the annual Christmas lunch in the Rib Room.
Luckily, this lunch is incredibly long and drawn out, so we actually hadn’t missed out on anything but a couple rounds of drinks. But we caught up fairly quickly, thanks to our awesome waiter William, and had a fun and festive afternoon.
Once we were finally finished with lunch (4 hours later…..), part of our group walked over to the Carousel Bar for more drinks. William even came to meet us; he said we were the most fun table he had that day. Then most of us walked across the street to Mr. B’s for dinner (Dana’s first time!). What. A. Day.
My little family had a very lazy Saturday, but the four of us did stick to our annual tradition and walked around our neighborhood that evening looking at Christmas lights. It could have been colder, but I’m glad we fit it in. I wasn’t sure we were going to get to it this year!
On Sunday Nola’s family was finally all in town, so everyone gathered at her house for a casual Sunday dinner and the Saints. It was one heck of a game, but the boys in black and gold pulled it off and secured the number one seed in the NFC, a first-round bye, and home field advantage throughout the playoffs. Who Dat, baby!
This was also the night that Rory stole my phone and walked around Nola’s house taking more than 100 pictures of anything that caught his eye. Crazy kid. He managed to capture a few good shots though.
Christmas Eve and Day recaps coming up next!
