Luke turned 3 on Friday, December 14. We all gathered at Nola and Nopsi’s after school to wish him Happy Birthday and to give him his presents. He loved his new set of Magic Tracks!
The next day was his birthday party at Kidsports. All of the kids had a great time playing and having pizza and cake and ice cream. Then the family went back to Luke’s house to see what he got. Such a fun day.
Sunday was Nopsi’s family Christmas. It was held at Nola and Nopsi’s house this year, so we didn’t have far to go. Nola had everything set up so nicely; the kids even had their own little table in the den. We mingled and munched on appetizers for a little while and then let the kids open their gifts. Riley and Rory both got Legos and immediately started building them. They were so happy.
The adults did things a little differently this year. Instead of drawing names, we did steal-a-gift, which was fun. Although Kenny did end up with his own gift. Go figure.
Dinner was delicious as always, and of course there was way too much food. How is that always the case? Probably because the appetizers were too good to resist. I made this dip and it was a huge hit.
We were missing a few people this year, but it’s always good to see that side of the family. (Except Peyton, who stole the massage I initially picked during steal-a-gift.) We should get together more often.
Merry Christmas, y’all!
