I came up with a crazy idea for our Christmas card this year and didn’t really have any other good options. I told Kenny what I wanted to do, and he agreed to help me make it happen. He’s so good to me.
The problem was, my idea involved taking a picture of both boys sleeping. At night. Next to each other. In Riley’s bed.
We tried the night before Thanksgiving, and everything went perfectly. Neither of them woke up, and they ended up in a really cute position with their heads together. However, I used the wrong camera and didn’t get a clear enough shot. It was just too grainy. Stupid mistake.
I attempted to get them to pretend like they were sleeping the next morning, but that totally didn’t work. Riley did a pretty good job, but Rory didn’t get at all what I wanted him to do. I got some cute ones of them laughing together though!
So Kenny and I tried again the next night. Things did not go nearly as smoothly as the night before had. Riley woke up and looked really confused at seeing Christmas lights in his bed, but he luckily laid right back down. Then, once we had both boys positioned, I was only able to snap a few quick pics before Rory sat straight up. But I did get one decent shot.
I used PicMonkey for editing and turned it into something I could work with.
Then I added banners and text to finish it off. I do believe my harebrained idea actually worked out okay!
Merry Christmas and have a wonderful weekend, everyone!
