School Days: 1st Grade Field Trip

On Tuesday, April 11 the firsties went on their field trip. They took a bus from school down to the Louisiana Children’s Museum. Lots of parent chaperones came too. We spent about two hours at the museum, where it was just Riley and me much of the time. He kinda likes doing his own thing, so I just followed him around and snapped pictures.

Our next stop was City Park for lunch, beignets, and play time. It was a really nice day, and the kids had a great time. Someone didn’t want to put his Morning Call hat on, though.

As the time approached for the bus to pick the kids and the teachers up for the ride back to school, Riley chose to sit on the steps in the shade next to Mrs. Smith. He ended up having quite the conversation with her, mostly about Legos. Of course. But she inquired all about Nexo Knights, which he patiently explained to her. I’m really going to miss her next year; she’s great.

It was wonderful spending a whole day with my sweet oldest boy. I’m so grateful that I can go to activities like this for both kids; I am one lucky mama!
