I had originally intended this series to be just three parts but we’ve done so much since getting back from the beach that I decided to break it down a bit further. Today is all about our recent road trip to Gonzales.
We loaded up into two cars after breakfast last Thursday and headed to the splash area at Jambalaya Park for a fun morning. Aunt E and Kate rode with me and the boys, and Dana followed along behind us with Claire, Colin, and Sophia.
Once we got there and sprayed everyone down with sunscreen, we let the kids run around in the water for a little while before taking a short break for popsicles.
After that it was right back out into the sunshine. It was such a beautiful day.
We took another break for lunch and some time in the shade. None of the kids ate all that great because they really didn’t want to stop playing!
After lunch there was time for one last round in the water before we needed to call it a day and head home. I really hope these three are all in the same class again. They were so cute together.
Erin and I figured that all of the kids would pass out on the drive home, but only the two youngest did. Riley snacked the whole way home since he was too anxious to eat his lunch earlier.
So glad this little road trip worked out. We had such a fun day.
School starts in just two weeks. The kids actually have to go in for an hour and a half on Thursday the 14th and their first full day is Friday the 15th. Dana and I already have plans lined up for next Thursday, and we have something in mind to do when they’re done on the 14th. We figure we can keep the fun rolling as long as we can.
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!

What a great day. I'll be sad to see Riley's summer end. TWQP has been such fun with both boys and even Kate on special days.
