Last Saturday was Jacque and Scott’s wedding day. Kenny and Adam left for the Roosevelt just before lunch to spend the day with the groom, so Erin and I got rides with our parents down there that evening.
The ceremony took place in the Orpheum Room, so we went upstairs to get seats. I don’t think I have ever arrived at a wedding ceremony that early before, so we got our pick of seats as we were the first ones to arrive.
In true Scott fashion, the ceremony started about 20 minutes late. But it was short and sweet (much like Kenny’s and mine was 7 years ago) and before too long, the bride and groom were taking their first walk as husband and wife, and the attendees were filing down to the Blue Room for the reception.
Once everyone got downstairs, we didn’t have to wait long for the new Mr. and Mrs. to make their grand entrance. They shared their first dance, Scott danced with his mom, and then the party got started.
Scott is friends with so many people, and it was so much fun to be in the same room with lots of familiar faces, some of which I hadn’t seen in a long time.
As usual, the night went by way too fast, but then again, time does fly when you’re having fun. And boy did we have some fun.
The details that Jacque put in place for the reception were so elegant and festive. I loved the wedding cake, both in look and in taste, and the favors were unreal: at the end of the night, each guest got to take home an engraved glass filled with a delicious chocolate martini, one of Jacque’s favorite drinks. So cool.
But there was one surprise detail Jacque arranged that no one, especially Scott, saw coming until he walked through the door.
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!
