Almost two years ago, back in October of 2012, our group celebrated a new marriage, that of Amy and Josh. Towards the end of the night, Scott asked Kenny and me if we would stay out a little longer and come meet a new girl in his life. I could tell right away that this one was pretty special to him, so we readily agreed. Once the reception was over, we headed over to Capedeville so he could introduce us to Jacque.
We only spent about an hour with her, but I believe I texted Scott on our way home something along the lines of “Big thumbs up. You have my approval.”
Fast forward to February of this year, when Scott proposed and Jacque of course accepted. Less than five months later, we found ourselves attending another wonderful wedding.
Kenny has been friends with Scott since high school, and he was asked to be a groomsman. The rehearsal took place on Friday night, and we had such fun. Everything on the day of the wedding occurred in the Roosevelt Hotel, so that’s where the ceremony was rehearsed. (Don’t y’all love the twins up there? Kenny and Adam obviously did not discuss what they were wearing beforehand or that never would have happened. Note that Erin and I are not dressed alike.)
After practice, everyone walked or cabbed it over to the Hotel Monteleone for the rehearsal dinner at Criollo. We were served five courses, plus a little amuse bouche shooter of yogurt with passion fruit to start. Kenny and I had never eaten there before, but we will certainly go back. Every single course was absolutely delicious.
After a few toasts were given to the happy couple, we adjourned next door to the Carousel Bar for more libations and celebrations. But the real fun would come the next night.
Wedding recap coming up next!
