We returned last Saturday from spending a week in Pensacola Beach with Nola, Nopsi, Aunt E, Uncle Jeff, and Kate. So last week was like one big fat Wacky Wednesday. It will take me awhile to compose the multiple posts about our trip, but in the meantime here’s what we were up to before our vacation.
We helped Kolston celebrate his birthday at a swim party with a pirate theme. Riley loved seeing lots of his school friends again.
I took Rory, Riley, and Kate to meet Nola, QP, and AD#1 for lunch at the brand new Cheesecake Factory that just opened in Lakeside Mall. Lunch was pretty much a disaster. I think we’ll wait a while before going back (or anywhere else for that matter) with these three.
Matthew’s mom Wendy was so nice to invite us over for a playdate one afternoon. The two older boys had a great time together, and Rory made a new friend in Matthew’s younger sister Sophia.
Then, the very next day, Karen invited Bridget, me, and our kids over to her house to swim. Lots of fun, even though Riley’s borrowed floaties wouldn’t stay on his arms and despite Rory doing laps around the pool and making me nervous.
The next week we hosted a little dinner gathering on account of our good friends Adam and Erin (and their three boys) being in town for a few days. There were 8 adults, 9 kids, 3 pizzas, 24 juice pouches, and a lot of beer in the house that night. As one might expect, chaos ensued. It was glorious.
Then, right before we left for the beach, I took the boys to BooKoo Bounce. Diana, Alcee, Dana, Claire, and Colin also came to play. We went the day before the Fourth, so it wasn’t too crowded. And of course the kids had a blast.
I know Riley had a great time at the beach (he even told me it was the best vacation he’s ever been on), but I bet he’s been missing Claire and Alcee and Matthew. Hopefully we’ll see them again soon!
