After a wonderfully fun-filled week in Orlando, we are back at home. We had such a good time with everyone, and we certainly made a lot of unforgettable memories. Thanks so much for an amazing vacation, Grandma and Grandpa!
This will be the first of many recap posts about our trip, and it is dedicated to the very first memory made: Riley’s first time on an airplane. Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Steve, Aunt Jaimi, and Zac met at our house last Saturday morning, and Nola and Nopsi brought us all to the airport for our flight to Orlando. Everything went smoothly, and before we knew it, our plane was ready to leave.
Of course I made a big deal when we were boarding the plane since it was something Riley had never done before. The captain, who happened to be standing just outside on the jetway, overheard me and actually put Riley-bean into his seat in the cockpit for a bit. So very cool.
Riley did really well once we were in the air, but he was so quiet and still on takeoff and landing. He made me a little nervous that he was going to be sick, but he held it together, although his ears did bother him a bit when we descended on the first flight.
On the second flight he enjoyed a little snack of raisins on his tray table and an episode of Mickey on Daddy’s laptop, and then he just couldn’t do it anymore. He absolutely conked out on my lap as we were landing in Mickey’s hometown. Sweet boy.
We claimed our luggage, got our rental car (or “vacation car,” as Riley called it), stopped for a tasty dinner at a small but authentic Mexican restaurant, and headed to find our home for the next week (or “vacation house,” as Riley called it). Our Disney vacation had officially begun!
Much, much more to come later this week. I hope y’all are ready for picture overload.
Happy Monday!

He was taking in a lot of new sensations in that video.
This video made me laugh. I even made Doug watch it...he (Riley) is so cute and concerned.
Just one of many new events to experience. I am glad you got it on video. :D
