We spent the last day of the ‘Woods’ visit at my parents’ house. Kenny and I had offered to host an afternoon of swimming for everyone, and we also were able to do a crawfish lunch. Debbie doesn’t get mudbugs nearly as often as she used to, so she relished being able to have them, especially this late in the season.
It was mighty interesting eating hot crawfish outside on a hot July day, but the ‘bugs were tasty, the drinks were cold, and we had a nice pool to jump into when we were finished. There was a plethora of pool toys for the kids to play with, and boy did they play. The water guns may have been the biggest crowd pleaser, but the slide was right in there as well.
Hey Mom, when can I play with the big kids?
This was such a wonderful way to spend the ‘Woods’ last day in New Orleans, and I think everyone enjoyed spending time together in a casual and relaxed atmosphere. Debbie said years ago she would never come back to New Orleans during the summer, but the fun we had this trip just might have changed her mind about that.
Then again, Paul may have a very strong opposite opinion.
He’s from England. He REALLY isn’t used to the kind of heat we have down here at the bottom of the States.
Welcome to Louisiana in the summer, y’all!
Come back next year, okay?
