This year’s crawfish boil was a great success. Most people left just after 5pm, but Lizzie stuck around. That meant she got to witness some of the cleanup process, which was epic this year.
Why, you ask?
That’s why.
Kenny and I decided to give the boys a bath and clean the big crawfish pot all at the same time.
We filled up the pot with warm water from the kitchen sink (the hose water was too cold), added a whole bunch of bubble bath (that smelled like old school Bath and Body Works Country Apple), and plopped the kids into the suds.
It was actually raining during their outside pot bath, but they didn’t care. Rory loved flinging the bubbles all over the place, and Riley nabbed a Mickey tub toy to play with. Kenny, Lizzie, and I took shelter under the tarp tent so I could take some lots of pictures.
We had some trouble getting both boys to look our way at the same time, so Lizzie started chanting Rory’s name. Riley joined in, and soon we were all shouting the little one’s name. Rory ate it up and a huge grin spread across his face.
I should also mention that he was holding onto the sides of the pot and jumping up and down as we were chanting.
And Riley was doing the same on his knees.
Lizzie got quite a workout, chanting and laughing and jumping around behind me.
But all of our hard work paid off because I got a great shot of my two boys.
And Kenny got a cute video. Hope y’all enjoy. Happy Friday, and have a wonderful weekend, everyone!
