{Triple} Video Monday: Zoo and Pool

Aunt E and Kate had all last week off for Spring Break, and she asked if Rory and I wanted to join them at the zoo on Tuesday. Of course we did, so we met them there right as the zoo opened. It was hot and then it rained and then it got quite humid. But we had fun!

 

 

 

My favorite part of the day was watching the kids run down Monkey Hill. The first time Rory did, he didn’t realize how steep it was. He kind of got out of control, going pretty fast and trying not to fall, with his hair flopping and his cheeks bouncing. I was at the bottom watching him come down and it was SO. DARN. FUNNY.

I took videos of his two successive runs, but they weren’t nearly as good as the first.

Riley missed out on the zoo because he had school. However, we all went to play at Nola and Nopsi’s that afternoon and spent the entire time outside in the backyard. Nopsi uncovered the slide, thus officially declaring the pool to be open.

The kids took his action to heart and immediately requested their bathing suits on. And not only did my two splash like they did last week but this time they actually fully submerged themselves in the cold water. Rory jumped in to Nopsi (whom Riley guilted into getting in with them…..fully clothed), and Riley went down the slide multiple times.

  

Riley had his floaties on but was quite nervous about being out in the middle of the pool by himself. He didn’t really remember that the floaties prevent him from going under, but I’m hoping that after his next round of swimming lessons in June he won’t need the floaties anymore. Especially since he can stand up on the bottom by himself and still have his head above the water. He is SO tall.

After swimming, we took the kids inside and immediately upstairs for a warm shower. Then the three musketeers ate dinner together again.

I see a pattern developing here. Nola and Nopsi, are you ready for us to practically live at your house this summer???

Because it’s gonna happen.
