A couple of weeks ago my friend Ashley sent out an email to me and some of our other girlfriends about an upcoming event she thought all of our boys might enjoy. We all quickly agreed that they would love it, so we purchased tickets and looked forward to spending some time outside this past weekend.
The Junior League of New Orleans put on the first annual “Touch-a-Truck” out at the Lakefront Airport last Saturday morning. It was bright and sunny but cold and windy. However, that didn’t stop crowds of people from coming out to see a wide selection of very impressive vehicles. There certainly were a lot of happy little boys (and girls) running around!
There was a huge crop harvester, a cement mixer, a Bobcat, a bucket truck, a fire truck, a helicopter, and many more.
We spent most of our time with Steve and Jack, and the two boys had fun discovering each new machine together. They were especially cute sitting inside the cockpit of the helicopter, although Riley seemed frozen in place once Kenny put the headset on him. Too funny.
Riley also got to honk the mixer-maker’s horn, as well as sit in the Bobcat, the fire truck, and the bucket truck. He even got to climb up on top of the airport fire truck.
Thanks, Ashley, for letting us know about this fun event. I have a feeling we’ll be back out there again next year, only with two excited little boys!
Oh, and a very Happy Birthday to Aunt Lizzie today…..we love you!
