I found an hour-long Mickey Easter special on Disney Junior a week or so ago, so I recorded it for Riley. Well, after he watched it once, that’s all he’s requested lately. Mickey and friends have an Easter party/egg hunt at the clubhouse, and Riley just thought that was so cool.
So I was especially excited that we would finally be able to attend our friends’ annual Easter egg hunt. We’ve missed out on the fun for one reason or another ever since Riley was born, but I was determined to go this year. I was so glad when Ashley set the date for this past Saturday and not closer to Sprout’s arrival. I told Riley about the hunt on Friday when we were eating lunch, and that’s all he talked about until we were actually on our way. He was so excited!
All of the guys helped hide the eggs right after everyone arrived, and then we let the kids loose in the backyard. Riley didn’t really know what to do, so he didn’t collect very many eggs before the older kids snatched them up, but it was fun to watch the hunt take place. All two minutes of it.
After the chaos was over, I made the kids quickly pose for a group pic, and then they had fun discovering what they had each gotten. Much to my dismay, Riley unfortunately did not discover many eggs with chocolate inside of them. He did, however, get one with a pack of gummies, and that was all he wanted.
A little time in the bouncy house, a lot of time playing in the sand with trucks, and a pizza dinner rounded out the fun-filled afternoon.
Thanks, Ashley and Greg, for having us over for such an egg-cellent Easter party. We were so glad we could make it this year!
