Nola, Nopsi, Aunt E, Uncle Jeff, Kate, and Luke went out to get their trees that morning too. We rendezvoused at Home Depot, where we've all had luck before. However, there was apparently a Christmas tree shortage this year, so the selection wasn't that great. Nola managed to find her two trees fairly quickly, but she wasn't super excited about either. (They look great, though.) Erin and Jeff decided to go to a tree lot to see if they could find something better. (Theirs may have a belly, but fits their space perfectly.) And I wasn't set on anything at first, but I kept going back to one in particular.
She's much smaller than we usually get, so I wasn't completely sure. But she had a beautiful shape, so I took a chance and hoped I wouldn't regret it. Kenny got her secured in the stand and inside the house before we left for the hike. He put lights on that night, and the four of us decorated the next morning.
Everyone, meet Tallulah, Bertha's and Mildred's more svelte younger sister. I LOVE her. I'm so glad we got her. She's such a cute little tree.
The boys decorated their little tree on Sunday afternoon, and Kenny got the lights on our house as well. All of them except the strings around the gutters, which decided to flake out on him this year. He was not happy. And his week was so busy that he never get around to it, and I told him not to worry about it. But the house still looks great.
'Tis the season, y'all!
