Nopsi got a new boat about a month ago, and we took it out for a spin one recent Sunday. Uncle Bill and Aunt Elena were still in town and they came too. The boys were so excited to take a boat ride!
We motored over to the Blue Crab for lunch. It was a beautiful day to be on the water, although very bright. Nopsi even took us in near a construction site on the way so Rory could see the cranes.
We got to the restaurant right as they were opening at 11am and scored a table on the upstairs deck. The boys had fun coloring and playing with trucks while we waited for our food. Riley even turned his menu over and started doing math problems on the back. Kenny and I were pleasantly surprised.
After a great lunch, we got back into the boat for the return trip. Aunt Elena decided she wanted to drive, so we puttered around by the boathouses for a bit before heading back into the lake.
Then I took the wheel and drove everyone back to the dock. Oh, and Aunt Elena got some really cool pictures of the Causeway Bridge as we went under it.
While Nopsi and Uncle Bill were getting the boat back onto the trailer, Aunt Elena walked over to the parking lot with Rory to check out the machines parked there. He had spotted them when we got there, and we promised him we would go see them when we got back.
Once we pried Rory away from the machines, we headed home to prepare for the next event: a Sunday dinner crawfish boil at Nola and Nopsi’s house. Kenny did a great job cooking while the kids ran around the driveway in their bathing suits.
I love all of the colors in a batch of crawfish. So pretty!
I do love spring in south Louisiana.
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!
