Fourteen months old! He hasn’t changed too too much since last month, but there are few things to document.
He weighs 25 pounds and stands about 30 inches tall. He wears 18 month clothes and a size 4 diaper.
Here’s what I want to remember about this past month:
- His eating habits are still really good. He continues to enjoy most meats, and he is loving broccoli and banana right now. He started snacking on goldfish crackers this month and loves them. He also loves York peppermint patties.
- He is drinking milk three times a day. Unfortunately still out of a bottle, but I plan to try the sippy again very soon.
- He has five teeth now. I spied another top one poking through a couple of weeks ago.
- His naps are hit or miss these days, but he usually takes one decent one each day. And he is still sleeping just about 12 hours at night. He giggles sometimes when I ask if he’s ready to get in his bed. And he’s very recently started to throw all of his pacis and stuffed animals out of his bed when he’s supposed to be sleeping. Super.
- He caught a cold the weekend before last, and it affected his respiratory system. We had to give him breathing treatments again, just like we did back in November when he first contracted RSV, as well as an antibiotic and a steroid. He hated the treatments and fought them hard. (He is freakishly strong.) But he was an absolute champ when he came to taking his other meds.
- He vehemently flings things aside when he doesn’t want them, including toys, his tiger, and his milk. He will also grab my face, hard, and push it away, but then he will gently turn my chin back to him after a second or two. And he loves playing with the wisps of hair near my ears.
- He sweetly leans head on my shoulder at times, which I love. And he loves giving kisses, usually doling out more than one at a time.
- He is stubborn and determined. It is so fun seeing his little personality emerge. I had hoped that he would be my cuddly boy, but it’s not looking like that will happen. He’s just too curious about everything to be that passive.
- He will turn his musical cube on and then go back to what he was doing before, just so he can hear the music while he plays.
- He loves the shake-and-go cars that we own, and he even knows how to work them himself. He’ll sit up, shake one of them, put it down, and wait. Sometimes they don’t move fast enough for him and he picks it up before it goes, but he is so proud of himself.
- He is still not walking on his own yet; in fact, he seems to have regressed. He used to stand up on his own and take a few steps but now he just sinks to the ground whenever I try to get him to stand up. However, he is still a maniac with his push toy.
