Claire’s Carousel Birthday and Annual Easter Egg Hunt

Last Saturday was another busy one for us. Riley’s school partner Claire had her birthday party at the Lafreniere Park Carousel in the morning, and then our annual Easter egg hunt with our friends was in the afternoon.

Once again, Kenny stayed home with Rory so he could nap while I took Riley to Claire’s party. Lots of kids from their class showed up, and they all had such a good time hanging together.

There were even little paper bags filled with bread so the kids could feed the ducks. What a great idea!

Claire’s mom Dana sent the kids home with their own bottle of bubbles (always fun) and lots of them also nabbed a balloon as well. I’m sure Dana didn’t realize she would be disassembling some of the décor at the end of the party to make the kids happy!

Happy, happy birthday, Claire! I’m so glad we could celebrate with you.

We came back home, had lunch, and then both boys took naps before we left for the Easter egg hunt at Ashley and Greg’s house. I actually got the start time wrong so we were a half hour late. Oops. The guys quickly hid all of the eggs right when we arrived, and we let the kids loose in the backyard before the sky opened up.

Riley cracked me up…..he started picking up the toys that Ashley had set out in the grass for games instead of just filling his basket with eggs. Too funny.

Don’t worry, Rory. Next year you’ll be running around with everyone else trying to get some eggs for yourself!

Thankfully the rain held out until after all of the eggs had been claimed. The kids were able to check out their loot, pose for their group picture, and play for a little bit before it started to sprinkle.

We were inside the rest of the afternoon and unfortunately didn’t get to play any of the games Ashley worked so hard to set up. But it was so great spending time with our friends. Thanks as always for hosting, Ashley and Greg!

So can you guess what we have going on this weekend? You got it: two more birthday parties.

Can you see the pattern developing? And it’s only going to get worse when Rory is in school. However, it is so much fun to see the joy on Riley’s face as he spends time in a fun setting with his friends. That makes these busy days totally worth it.

Great post. I love seeing all the friends' kids together. Was this Riley's first carousel ride?
