Easter this year was a busy day for us. When Riley woke up, we told him that the Easter Bunny had visited his house overnight and left him and Rory baskets full of presents. Riley went through his basket first and then he helped show his little brother what the bunny had left for him. Such a good big brother!
After baskets and breakfast, the four of us got dressed and headed down to Arnaud’s restaurant in the Quarter, where Lizzie played the role of the Easter Bunny again. We missed seeing her last year, but since this was Rory’s first Easter, I really wanted to make the trip down there.
Riley got a kick out of meeting the Easter Bunny and even danced on the balcony with her. And he got to have his very first taste of solid chocolate, in the form of a Hershey’s kiss. I do believe he liked it. Thanks so much for taking time out for us, LPb!
Next up was a barbecue at Nola and Nopsi’s house with all of our family that was still in town. The only pictures I have from our time there are of Riley opening his Easter gifts from Nola and Nopsi. Oops. You’ll just have to trust me that we had a great time and the food was yummy, as always.
Our last celebration was back at our house. Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Steve, Aunt Jaimi, and Zac came over mid-afternoon for an Easter egg hunt and a crawfish dinner. Aunt Jaimi was all too happy to hold Rory while the rest of us searched the backyard for Grandma’s eggs. Then I took a turn with the little one while everyone else ate. Luckily, Grandma, Grandpa, and Kenny were nice enough to plop little piles of peeled crawfish tails in front of me every now and then since I had my arms full.
And with that, Easter 2013 came to a close. It was a busy weekend but it was a fun one. We hope all of y’all had as fulfilling an Easter as we did!
