Rory is seven months old today! He weighs 21.9 pounds and measures about 28 inches long.
Here’s what I want to remember about this past month:
- He is still taking four 6-7 ounce bottles a day. He eats four stage 2 foods each day. He’s tried just about all of the stage 2 offerings but seems to prefer the veggie/meat options instead of the fruits. He is off of the oatmeal cereal completely, but we’ve added in a helping of yogurt once a day.
- He’s only taking two naps a day (thanks to us having to pick Riley up from school in the afternoons), but he usually naps for at least 45 minutes.
- He is in his bed for the night by 6pm and he wakes up for the day around 5:30am. Like clockwork.
- He’s started blowing raspberries, and not only at mealtimes. He’ll often do it when he’s bored, and it’s so funny to watch.
- He’s wearing clothes ranging in size from 9-12 months. He’s in a size 3 diaper.
- He had a bad case of diarrhea mid-month, which resulted in really bad diaper rash for awhile. He also had a little cold with a runny nose and a cough.
- He’s really starting to suck on his fingers, so I think he’s teething big time. No teeth yet, though.
- His hands are often in constant motion: opening and closing his fingers, waving his arms around, and getting a good grip on anything within his reach.
- He pulls his paci out of his mouth often but he can work it back in.
- He babbles all day long with combinations of ah, ma, ba, da, ga, and wa.
- He’s more or less sitting up on his own. (More on this tomorrow!) He is also scooting himself around a bit on his belly, but only backwards.
- He is such a happy boy. He smiles all the time.
- Sprout hasn’t really stuck as well as Bean did, but he does have a few nicknames. I call him “man” and “sweetness” and Nola started calling him “99/40” after his last checkup.
Seven months old!
Also, this just happens to be the 1000th post on this little blog of mine since I started it back in the fall of 2008. Thanks so much for following along. It means the world to me.

What a sweet sweet boy. Missed you all this weekend; perhaps stop by on the way home from school for a quick visit?
Congrats on your 1000th post! I know your blog has been a lifesaver for me!!
You know what they say: the first 1,000 are the hardest!
But you make it look easy, sweet.
100 is certainly great start-I know I have enjoyed every one of them- AND Rory is so darn cute and of course he is happy - look at his great parents who reallytake time with him and Riley Hugs, Grams
Things I forgot to include: he kicks his legs. A lot. He likes to play peek-a-boo. He is getting really good at transferring objects from one hand to the other.
