On the Saturday after Christmas, Kenny and I took Riley down to the Louisiana Children’s Museum on Julia Street. Grandma and Grandpa came along, too, and we had a fun morning letting Riley explore.
The museum was a place we hadn’t ever taken Riley before, and neither Kenny nor I had been in a really long time. So all three of us {re}discovered it together. We started out in the First Adventures toddler area (which Riley didn’t want to leave on account of the cool train table) and then moved on to the New Orleans architecture exhibit (where Riley donned a hard hat and tried his hand at some plumbing).
We also visited the Safety Zone, where Riley hopped into a fire truck just his size, and the Talk and Play Center, where he put together a tasty pot of gumbo and crawled through a really long tunnel.
We also finally convinced the boy to do some shopping in the Little Winn Dixie Grocery Store before we left, where Riley picked out milk for himself, bread for Mama, sausage for Daddy and Grandpa, and some fruit for Grandma.
But my favorite part of the day was the bubble exhibit. Riley had a blast making bubbles by himself…..
…..watching Daddy make long trails of bubbles…..
…..and watching Mama make a really big bubble around herself…..
…..after which he just had to try it, too.
Thanks for joining us on this fun Saturday morning outing, Grandma and Grandpa!

Oh Man that looked like SO much fun. And it seems like such a diverse, fascinating place....can I come next time?
