Wait for It

Once we got home from our fun afternoon with Kelli and Jack, Riley took a decent nap and then was in a good mood the rest of the day (except for a small poop incident when he woke up….gross). He ate great at dinner, “helped” me pick up his toys both downstairs and in his room, had lots of fun in the bathtub, and let me get him dressed for bed with little fuss.

Wait for it…..

He took his last milk of the day like a champ and then babbled to me on my lap for a bit before it was time for night-night. I put him in his crib, gave him his froggy (sadly, giraffe was recovering from the aforementioned incident), told him I loved him, and went to leave the room.

Wait for it…..

Most of the time, he rolls right over and goes to sleep, but sometimes he rolls over and sits up. And sometimes he actually rolls over, sits up, and then stands up to watch me leave.

Wait for it…..

He did the latter on this particular night, and I’m so glad my camera was upstairs on my desk because I just had to get a picture of him standing there.

Wait for it…..

I dashed out of his room and grabbed my camera, flicking it on at the same time. I quickly composed the shot, pressed the button, and prayed it was in focus.

Oh, my.
