Our annual Easter egg hunt at Kelli and Steve’s house took place on Palm Sunday this year, March 25. It was a beautiful day! The kids enjoyed snacks and play time first, including a fairly intense game of kickball, in which my two did not participate. Naturally.
We got the hunt started just after 3pm, in the backyard this year. Rory and Emory got a tiny head start, but Rory has not yet learned how to just pick up any egg he spots, no matter if he likes the color or not. He passed up so many! Crazy fries.
Riley, for that matter, didn’t fill his basket up very much either. Surprising, considering how much he loves candy. I always feel bad that the other kids get so much more than they do, but they don’t seem too bothered by it!
After the hunt and subsequent candy sort and trade, Kelli and Steve began a series of fun games they had organized. There was an “act it out” relay, matching Easter egg halves, a water balloon spoon race, blowing a pom pom ball into a cup, picking up marshmallows with straws, and a sack race. Rory did the first two games and Riley did the last four. I’m glad they at least tried some of them!
Such a great day, as always. Thanks for hosting and for making it so much fun for everyone, Kelli and Steve!
