Luke turned one on December 14. His first birthday party was held at his house last Saturday. Aunt E went with a Polar Express theme, and everything was so cute, even though it ended up being almost 80 degrees outside that day! All of the kids wore pajamas to the party, which was so cute. Of course they loved the donuts, while I crushed on the hot chocolate bar. So sweet and delicious.
Aunt E and Uncle Jeff also decided to rent a little train for the party so the kids could have rides up and down their street. It was so cool; everyone loved it. Especially the birthday boy, who cried whenever he was taken off of the train!
Once our time with the train was up, we went back inside to sing “Happy Birthday” and cut the cake. Luke reached right for his smash cake at first but then didn’t want much to do with it. Erin and Jeff pushed his hands into the cake, but he didn’t like his hands being messy. And since he doesn’t really like sweet things, he didn’t even want to taste his cake. But hey, it was his party; he could do what he wanted to!
The party favors were bags containing an engineer’s cap, a wooden whistle, and a candy cane. So cute!
What a fun party. Happy happy birthday, Luke. We love you!
