Rory was chosen to be Mrs. Claire’s student of the week a few weeks ago. That meant he got the class pet, Hopper the frog, all weekend long, and he got to be Mrs. Claire’s and Ms. Lisa’s special helper all the next week in school.
Rory brought Hopper home with him on Friday, November 11. He was so excited! They watched Inside Out together that afternoon and he snuggled with him that night.
And since that weekend was Oyster Festival weekend, we got to bring Hopper out to the fair with us! Rory had so much fun taking Hopper on all of his favorite rides.
Monday, November 14 was a fair holiday, so the boys didn’t have school. Instead, we went with Dana, Claire, and Colin to see Trolls. Hopper came too!
Rory took Hopper back to school with him on Tuesday. He also brought in his “Star Student” paper that we filled out, as well as his journal entry about his time with Hopper and his “Me Sack,” which he chose to fill with a little yellow digger and his white bucket truck. Naturally.
PK3 had kind of a crazy week, so Rory didn’t get to share all of his stuff until Thursday. But Ms. Lisa sent me lots of pictures when he finally did! He was so proud to show his friends his two trucks and what we wrote in Hopper’s journal.
We’re so glad we got the chance to spend some time with Hopper. It was a very special weekend, and we’re so proud of you for being such a great student of the week, Rory. We love you!
