So it turned out that Thoth was not Riley’s last parade of the 2013 Mardi Gras season. The rain unexpectedly went more to the north so the parades rolled without incident all day long. Laissez les bon temps rouler, indeed!
After talking to Grandma and determining the weather was worth the risk, Kenny and Riley backed out of our driveway just before 10am to go pick her up and attempt to catch Rex somewhere uptown.
They unfortunately missed Rex completely but did get to see one truck parade before heading back home for lunch. Not too bad for their last-minute decision to go!
Plus, as an extra surprise bonus for the boy, they just so happened to stand right across the street from a really big crane.
So Mardi Gras is officially over. And, as evidence that Kenny really did get a workout every time we ventured out to a parade, please enjoy this short video of us at Thoth on Sunday afternoon.
