Riley has been requesting a particular book a lot at night these days, and Kenny decided to make it a reality for the boy’s breakfast last weekend. He told Riley he would make him his very own plate of green eggs and ham on Saturday morning.
Understandably, Riley was a little freaked out when he saw what he was supposed to eat for breakfast. (I particularly like the way the ham turned out. Yikes.) Kenny lifted Riley up to see everything cooking on the stove, and he started to cry. But he calmed down pretty quickly and eventually agreed to give it a try.
He was very skeptical about the eggs, but that did not surprise me at all since he’s not into eggs much these days. However, he did try a few bites of them, which was good enough for me. And although the ham looked a bit scary, he ate every single bite. My boy is definitely a carnivore.
Kudos to Daddy for coming up with the idea for this little weekend activity. Even though it got off to a rocky start, I’m sure the boy appreciated you making one of his current favorite books come to life on his Elmo plate.
Oh, and a very Happy Valentine’s Day today to my two boys. I love you both so much.

AND learning the lesson that you can't make judgments without TRYING something first! Bravo, Kenny.
OMG! It WAS scary looking...Kudos to Kenny and Riley...
Green Eggs and Ham is a very important book in our family!
And did Riley say, "I DO like Green Eggs and Ham. I DO like them, Sam I am."?
