For the past four weeks, Riley has been taking gymnastics classes at Ivanov’s. Long story short, Diana invited him to take four classes with Alcee this summer, which we graciously accepted. The two friends had fun together, but I think it’s very safe to say that neither one of them will grow up to be a gymnast.
The teachers spent most of the sessions telling Riley and Alcee to come back and join their group. They kept running off to distant areas of the gym. Too funny. They were so excited to see each other that they just wanted to play!
Both of them missed the third week but were back together again for their last class. They goofed off a decent bit but did most of what their teacher asked of them. Riley did so well with his tumblesets and on the trampoline. Such a difference from last time!
As for me, I spent each 45-minute session dealing with a very squirmy, very restless one-year-old who desperately wanted to be out in the gym with the big kids. He completely wore me out.
After their last class was over and Riley and Alcee had gotten their coveted stamps, we packed up and headed out to get an early dinner at Atomic Burger.
Luckily, we were the only people in there for most of our meal because the two older ones were nuts. They were running around, yelling to hear their echoes, and loudly quoting songs from Robots. But they ate pretty good and had a fun time and that’s all that matters.
Thanks so much, Diana, for asking us to join y’all in this mini gymnastics adventure. It was great spending time with y’all!
