For the second year in a row, we were able to spend a weekend at a friend’s camp in Bay St. Louis. Everyone arrived on Friday evening, and the kids immediately all came together and started having fun. They were up way too late but had a great time.
The next morning, once everyone had woken up and eaten breakfast, we packed up and headed to the beach. We thought we were going to get really lucky with overcast skies and no rain, but a crazy storm came through suddenly. We didn’t get much rain, but the lightning was intense. So we hunkered down for a while until it finally blew out and ended up having a really nice day.
Rory wanted to go on a boat ride late in the afternoon, so I took him with a few of the others. Then, after watching Grant, Nathan, and Emory tube, he decided he wanted to try it. Pleasantly surprised, I donned a life jacket, and we hopped on. He lasted for maybe 30 seconds. But at least he tried!
We got back to the beach and played a little more before calling it a day and heading back to the camp. The kids hung out under the house in the shade for the rest of the afternoon, playing in the little pool and having water gun and water balloon fights.
Riley slept until after 8am the next morning; he had worn himself completely out. We packed up, got on the road, and passed through another crazy storm before we got back home. But we had such a great time with our friends.
Thanks for having us again, Bridget and Brian!

I hope this continues well into your kids' teenage and college years. Such great traditions/memories you're making. Hugs (in honor of Grams)
