Kenny’s boss Lee had an early 4th of July party at the new house he’s building on the Westbank. The house is plantation-style, raised, and overlooks the river. We stopped by late on the afternoon on July 1 and spent a few hours there. The boys were so excited to see the huge waterslide set up in the front yard, and Kenny and I got to climb all the way up to the widow’s walk on the very top of the house to check out the amazing views.
The next day we hung at home and set up the bouncy house, kiddie pool, and old-school sprinkler in the backyard. Riley and Rory had an absolute blast playing all morning long. Oh, and I even found a doodlebug crawling around on our back porch! I haven’t seen those guys in years, but I remember finding them all the time when I was little.
The boys ended up creating quite the mud puddle near the kiddie pool and got covered from head to toe.
I told Nola and Nopsi that we would just come throw them in the pool before Sunday dinner to clean them off, but they said no. So a boring bath it was before we joined everyone at their house for another great dinner.
Fourth of July recap up next. Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!
