Last Friday was Riley’s first official Field Day at SCR. I remember loving Field Days when I was in grade school. I even made Nopsi help me practice for the ball throw event, the only one I figured I even had a chance at placing in since I was not a runner.
The PK4 classes participated in four events this year: a crazy obstacle course, a beanbag toss, tug-of-war, and a giant egg race. I was there as a parent volunteer, so I got to see everything. There weren’t any winners or losers; the kids just had a great time.
Riley was very clingy to me and didn’t really want to play any of the games, especially because he saw the big kids were jumping on the 6 bouncy houses in the other field. But he did end up doing all 4 of the events. I was so proud of him.
After they finished the last event, the kids were treated to snoballs. Riley was so excited about his red one.
Once the kids were all done with their snoballs, they were finally brought over to one of the bouncies to play for a bit before dismissal.
Dismissal was at 11:15am from the playground, so Dana and I took Riley and Claire to eat at Chick-Fil-A after Field Day. The kids were on a high from their fun morning and had a great lunch and even scored an ice cream treat.
Next week is their last week of school. I can hardly believe it.
Happy Thursday!
