Lizzie’s sister Ashley got married last Saturday night, and Kenny and I were the official wedding crashers. It’s a long story, but we were invited to attend just a week before, and we were very honored to be there.
Ashley got married in the same church that Lizzie did (Immaculate Conception), and she looked so pretty in her new role of bride.
The reception was one block away at the Wyndham Garden Hotel. Kenny and I had such a fun time hanging out with friends we hadn’t seen in awhile. As a matter of fact, most of Lizzie’s bridesmaids were there, and we had a blast being together again.
Mrs. Patti looked stunning, Lizzie wore the same sash that Ashley wore as maid of honor in her wedding, Doug took his shoes off and went barefoot most of the night (prompting Kenny to tuck a napkin into his tux that said “No shirt, no shoes, no service”), and everyone was having such a good time that they ran out of glassware and Lizzie had to send someone to purchase 100 red Solo cups. Love it.
There was a photo booth, and some of the girls decided to take pics with Father Sanders, the priest who performed the ceremony. He was a good sport and went along with everything we asked him to do (pray, prospector, smile, and goofy). He’s a young guy who actually opened his homily with those famous words from The Princess Bride: “Mawage. Mawage is wot bwings us togeder tooday.” That was awesome.
Alex Harvie was also there, as he was at Lizzie’s wedding. I just love what he does, and I so wish I had known about him when Kenny and I got married. Amanda and I watched him work for awhile, and he painted us next to each other, just like in Lizzie’s painting, with Kenny and Brian on either side of us. Alex even painted my pink shoes in, which I wore at Lizzie’s request.
Big thanks to Nopsi for staying home with the boys so Kenny and I could enjoy a night out and celebrate this new marriage.
Many congratulations to you, Ashley and Andrew. We are so happy for y’all and we sincerely thank you for including us in your Big Day.

Oh, I loved seeing these. Next best thing to being there. You did a great job in words and pics.
Thanks for the sweet compliment!! You did a great job describing a fabulous night!
WAIT! I am just realizing that the officiant was Kyle Sanders, Philip Averill's best friend from high school. His parents are among Greg and Liz's best friends. NOW it makes sense to me that he would consent to do the Princess Bride MAWIGE thing and those incredibly funny photo booth pics. What a wonderful guy to marry them...............
