Once all of this virus madness started, Kenny and I realized fairly quickly that we wouldn't be able to have our big annual crawfish boil this year. However, we made sure to do a couple of small boils to get our seasonal mudbug fix (and also including an obvious beer choice). One of those occurred on Palm Sunday at Nola and Nopsi's house. It was such a gorgeous day.
Oh, and Nola gave the kids their Easter gifts that evening: new bathing suits, towels, and pool toys for all!
On Good Friday, the four of us took a family bike ride, our first one ever. I'm so proud of the boys for not giving up on their bikes. It was a challenge, but they finally learned to ride well enough for all of us to go together.
That afternoon after our ride, we all cleaned up and participated in The Front Porch Project NOLA. A local photographer came out to take socially distant pictures of us on our front porch, marking this unusual time in our lives. It was free; all we were asked to do was support a local business by purchasing something from them. So fun!
We dyed Easter eggs on Saturday, using Aunt E's borrowed Egg-Mazing contraption. Super easy to do; the eggs were so colorful. Then on Sunday, the boys discovered their Easter baskets, we watched church online, and we went to Nola and Nopsi's for a "Nacho Average Easter dinner."
Just doing whatever we can to try to adjust to our new normal!
