The SCR PK4 parade this year was American themed. The school learned all about the USA during Global Awareness Week, which ended on Friday, March 1 with the parade. I joined the boys and their friends in the front parking lot for the parade’s two loops around the school.
This year’s parade was dedicated to PK4 teacher Mrs. Sue, who is retiring in May. We love Mrs. Sue!
Once the parade was over, the kids were dismissed for Mardi Gras break, and that’s when things really got crazy. Rory decided he didn’t want a big birthday party this year. Instead, he just wanted our little core group to go to Sky Zone to jump and then to Tutti Frutti for frozen yogurt. After looking at the calendar and talking with everyone, Kenny and I decided that after the school parade was the best time to have an early birthday celebration.
Diana and Heidi were still working, and Dana and her two were dealing with something unexpected at home, but Terah was luckily off and able to help me transport the rest of the kids. Aunt E came too, with Kate and Luke, and Kenny left work early to join us for the birthday fun. We went to Chick-Fil-A for lunch first and then to jump. Dana, Claire, and Colin ended up being free after lunch, so they met us at Sky Zone. We treated everyone to an hour-long jump, and they all had a blast.
After Sky Zone, we piled into cars and headed to Tutti Frutti for a special birthday treat. I even brought candles to stick into Rory’s yogurt so we could legit sing to him!
What a crazy, chaotic, insane, fun day. Rory turns 6 for real on Thursday!
