Our annual crawfish boil was originally scheduled for April 14. However, the weather had other plans that day, so we rescheduled for May 12. Luckily, there was no rain, but it was much warmer. The clouds and a nice breeze stuck around most of the day, though, so it all worked out!
Kenny boiled 249 pounds of crawfish, which was our biggest amount ever. He had three pots going at once in an attempt to not be stuck cooking all day long. He sat down to eat a bit earlier than he usually does, but he unfortunately left out key ingredients in a couple of the batches because he was juggling so much. He did a great job, though; I’m always amazed at him on this day.
We had 38 adults and 27 kids in attendance this year. The kids were nonstop all day long. They were running trucks, playing with the crawfish, having water balloon fights, and jumping through the sprinkler. They had a blast.
What a fun, exhausting, chaotic, delicious, long day. It’s so much work but it’s so worth it to bring everyone together. Until next year!
