Last weekend we went to a friend’s family’s camp in Bay St. Louis, MS. We spent two nights there with four other families. 9 adults + 9 kids = tons of fun. Riley was thrilled to spend so much time with Jackson.
We arrived around 8pm on Friday night and let the kids stay up late to watch a movie. The next morning we headed out to the beach. Brian took some people in the boat and the rest of us drove. It was hot but everyone had fun. Riley got to go tubing, and Kenny even waterskied.
We went back to the house for lunch and to rest a bit. Rory passed out and took a much needed nap while the other kids played Legos, bounced in the bouncy house, cooled off in the little pool, took rides in the Polaris, or played ping pong or cornhole. Rory joined in the fun when he woke up. There were so many things for them to do there!
There was a fireworks show in Waveland on Saturday night, so we stayed up late again and took the kids out to the beach to see it. I brought glowsticks for all of them, which they loved.
Ashley and Greg left early the next morning but the rest of us hung around until after lunch. Riley and Jackson got more Lego time in, and Rory and Alden got another boat ride. It was a great trip with great friends; I hope we do it again soon.
We had a very lazy morning on Monday and then went to Nola and Nopsi’s house for their annual 4th of July party. Claire and Colin were there and the kids had a great time playing and swimming in the pool. In fact, we were so busy that I didn’t snap many pictures at all.
We got home around 8:30 that night and Rory kept asking to go see more fireworks. So we unloaded the car and walked down to the levee to see the Treasure Chest Casino show at 9pm. I gave the boys glow axes for the walk, which kept them entertained.
The levee was fairly crowded with people, and the show was pretty good. We bathed the boys super quick and got them into bed just after 10.
A wonderful Independence Day!
