Kenny got off work early the last Friday in November, so we picked up the boys from school and headed straight to get our Christmas tree. Rory was so excited; he had been asking all week long if we could get it. The boys did decorate their little tree earlier that week, though!
We went to Home Depot and ended up buying the first tree we saw. We looked at a few others to make sure, but the first one I spotted was the winner.
It took a little time for her branches to fully fall and open, but I really like her. She’s no Bertha, but Mildred is definitely holding her own. Kenny put lights on her the next morning, and we decorated her that afternoon. That day happened to be our anniversary, so we had Riley take a picture of us putting on our special wedding cake ornament. He did good!
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in here. I wasn’t ready for it, but now that the house is all decorated, I’m all in.
Bring on the eggnog!
