1. A bit of a sad story to start off with: one of the feral cats who lives in the park where I run was attacked by a dog at the beginning of last month. I noticed him lying in the grass near the path as I was doing my cool down and found out what happened from some ladies walking the path. He couldn’t move his back legs at all. I decided I couldn’t just leave him there, so with the help of another runner, we wrapped him in an old towel I had in the back of my car, and I took him to a vet that Lizzie recommended. He unfortunately didn’t make it (his spine was crushed and he had a large abdominal hernia), but I’m glad I could be his angel and save him from unnecessary pain and suffering.
And it makes me treasure our time with Jem even more.
2. The boys and their new obsession: a computer game called Salazar.
3. Rory and his really big book from the library, attempting to put his own shirt on, and after decorating the chalkboard at Nola and Nopsi’s with Kate.
4. On October 8, Grandma and I took Riley to see the Lego Ninjago movie while Kenny took Rory to get Tutti Frutti. Happy boys!
5. So excited that his beloved Monster Notebook finally came in. And I sent the author a note and a picture of Riley in his boss monster Halloween costume, and HE WROTE BACK! Riley was thrilled.
6. Riley with a really blue tongue, Dana and I goofing around in Target between fair dance practices, crazy hair for both boys after 50s day at school, and Riley with a gummy zombie hand treat.
7. Sunday family silly selfie!
8. Afternoon sandbox fun for the little one. It’s finally getting cool enough to enjoy it again!
9. Riley got his right thumb stuck in my car door after school one day and hurt it pretty bad. He couldn’t use it at all for a while, so his teachers had to write his assignments for him! Plus, a Sleepy Bean and a Sleepy Sprout (you’re welcome), and brothers playing in the car while waiting to go into school.
10. Alcee’s birthday party at Surge. Riley and Claire were both sporting hand injuries so they had to be careful when jumping. But it was a fun party, and Riley even ate pizza!

The family selfie is classic! And, yes, thanks for the sleepy pics ... love these "ten things" posts!
Sad, sad story about the kitty. I'm so glad you were there to do the right thing for her. And thanks for following that with nine funny, sweet, amazing things! That note from the 'Notebook' author is fabulous! Tape or past that inside the front cover of the book so he will have it forever.
