After taking a year off, I decided we would give Touch-a-Truck another shot. Kenny wasn’t able to come with us, but the boys and I had a great time, even though Riley said he didn’t want to go. However, he had fun once he was there, especially because Kate, Luke, Claire, Colin, Maddie, and Brennan came too.
The event was in a new location this year, inside the Pontchartrain Center. Super convenient for us, but I was concerned the noise associated with the trucks would be worse inside the building. However, it wasn’t too bad and no one complained too much. Plus, they had earplugs on hand for anyone who wanted them.
We saw lots of really cool trucks, including a fire truck, military vehicles, diggers, loaders, a police motorcycle, and some really fast cars.
Some of the boys’ favorites were surprising, though: an electric car and an empty moving van. Go figure.
There was also coloring, facepainting, and a food activity (making cars out of apple slices and grapes). So fun.
It was of course crazy and chaotic at times, with the boys wanting to go in different directions. But we had a really good time together. We stayed until the very end and even went to Tutti Frutti for an afternoon snack afterwards.
Loved this special day with my boys. Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!

I can't decide which is my favorite picture: the one of you and Rory in front of the yellow car, or the one of Luke on the police moto. Such a fun day!
