Kenny gave the boys much needed haircuts the Sunday before Halloween, and Rory and I went for a walk while Riley was getting his. We discovered a few awesomely decorated houses in our neighborhood!
Dinner that night at Nola and Nopsi’s was quite festive: they really got into it and had a whole theme happening. My favorite was the pumpkin vomiting spinach dip. Oh, and Nopsi even made hollow chocolate bombs filled with salted caramel cheesecake mousse for dessert. It was so fun!
I picked up the boys on Halloween afternoon and took them to see a giant inflatable jack-o-lantern down the street from school. It got us in the Halloween spirit and ready to trick-or-treat!
We went over to Nola and Nopsi’s house later that afternoon to get ready for our annual party at Ashley and Greg’s house. Both boys decided they did not want their faces painted again, so putting on their costumes was super easy. Jeff and Erin stopped by on their way to their party with Kate’s school friends, so we got to see them too. Princess Elena Kate looked beautiful and Fireman Luke was so cute. But not having anything to do with pictures. Such is life.
We got to Ashley and Greg’s about an hour before the sun went down. The adults snacked and chatted and the kids played in the backyard. Then we were off!
Ashley and Greg live in Lakeview, and many of the houses in their neighborhood were decorated really cool. And there were lots of people handing out candy and lots of families walking around trick-or-treating. It was a really fun night, even though Riley ended up losing one of his yellow eyes.
We walked around for about an hour, gathering all of the candy the kids could carry. They promptly spread out in the living room when we got back to the house, and the trading commenced. Riley got almost everyone’s Almonds Joys because I said they were some of my favorites. Sweet boy.
So glad we still get together with this group for Halloween. Always a fun night. Thanks for having us, Ashley and Greg!
