Eli and Ita McF were in town for 5 days the week before last, and we had so much fun with them. Eli hadn’t been here since Mardi Gras 2012, and neither one of them had met Rory. He won them over pretty darn quickly with those dimples of his.
The girls brought a cool stomp rocket for Riley, and it didn’t take long for one of the rockets to wind up in the pine trees in Nola and Nopsi’s side yard. Such a fun present. Thanks, girls!
We played Apples to Apples, watched the duck song on the iPad, sat through parts of the bird movie twice, and spent lots of time in the pool. The girls came to Jazzercise a couple of times, discovered Charming Charlie’s with Nola, and went to see The Heat. There was no shortage of things to do while they were here!
We also ate. A lot. Because that’s what you’re supposed to do when you have people in from out of town. Nopsi grilled fish, shrimp, chicken, and veggies one night, we got our customary Five Happiness for dinner one night and Pho Bang for lunch one day, we ate another lunch out at Gott Gourmet, and, of course, we got snowballs (Kate’s first one!). Yum.
Then, one afternoon while enjoying a dip in the pool, Ita decided she really wanted to spike Rory’s hair into a mohawk. So with my permission and QP’s pomade, she did just that. His hair basically looks like that anyway these days; she simply made it stand out a bit more. Too funny.
I started missing you girls the minute we said goodbye last Wednesday. Please come back for another visit as soon as you can; we love having you here!
