Fourth of July

Fourth of July this year started off a little bit differently for us. We ended up switching out our American flag for one that flew over the Capitol building on Kenny's birthday back in 1986. We had a little flag raising ceremony with the boys and explained to them the importance of how to treat the flag. It was so nice.

Then we went to Nola and Nopsi's house that afternoon for their annual party. The whole Krewe was there, as well as Jeff and Erin and other family and friends. It was a great party as always!

Once things wrapped up at Nola and Nopsi's, Kenny and I took the boys to the levee to see the Treasure Chest fireworks. (Note to self: bring something to sit on next year. Levee grass is scratchy.) It's become our little tradition!

Two days later, Kenny's boss Lee hosted his annual Fourth party at his house. The huge waterslide was back, as well as a big pile of sand for the kids to play in. And there were multiple dogs roaming around, which the boys loved.

Happy Birthday, America!
