On Friday, December 8, the New Orleans area got hit with an unusual winter storm. School let out early on account of it, and the boys were so excited to see the teeny piles of snow ice in our front yard. We could see little flurries in the air, but nothing really stuck around for very long. Still cool though!
However, the farm was a different story. It was completely transformed into a winter wonderland. I so wish we had been able to go up there and see it in person. Magical.
Two days later, we were back in short sleeves again. Typical. We went over to Karen’s house for our annual kids’ gingerbread house party. We also made salt dough ornaments this year. The kids are really getting creative and impressive with their house decorating skills. I’m so glad we still get together to do this!
Luke turned two on December 14. He was at Nola and Nopsi’s that day, so the boys and I went over after school to give him his birthday present: a big orange crane truck. He loved it!
Two days later was his party, a fire truck themed one at his house. Aunt E even hired a real {retired} fire truck to come and give everyone rides. It was so much fun!
Happy happy birthday, sweet Luke. And a wonderful holiday weekend to all of y’all!
