Kenny and the boys left for the farm on Black Friday morning. Grandma and Grandpa, Zac, and the ‘Woods went up as well. They had a great time fishing, getting dirty, eating dinner around the campfire, and then going on a hayride the next morning.
I chose to stay back and get the house decorated for Christmas on Friday and then drove up on Saturday. It was such a nice day to spend up there; I hadn’t been to the farm in a long time.
Debbie and Paul used Scoops on Saturday to help feed the cows, with Grandpa’s supervision. There may or may not have been a small competition to see who operated it better.
And Riley was super excited to find the bones of a cow in one of the fields while we were up there. He has a whole collection now, which I made him leave in the barn.
Kenny was able to get the LSU game on TV out by the fire on Saturday evening, which Grandpa was so happy about. We had a yummy fajita campfire dinner, and Rory ended up falling asleep on me before the game was over. He had been nonstop running his dump truck all day long, and he finally crashed.
Kenny and I woke up with amazingly awesome hair the next morning. Everyone had breakfast at the house and then jumped on the big hay bales before we headed home. Great way to end our time there.
It was such a nice weekend, and we enjoyed getting to spend more time with Deb, Paul, Nick, and James. They’re never here long enough!
We stopped to get our Christmas tree on our way home, and it just may be our biggest and fattest tree to date. I’ll show her to y’all next!
