This year for Christmas, the adults in Kenny's family decided not to exchange gifts. Instead, we anonymously put the money we would have normally spent into a box. Grandma and Grandpa then divided it equally among their 5 grandsons. Their task was to go shopping to pick out toys for boys and girls who wouldn't get as much this Christmas. It could have been a disaster. There could have been tantrums. Tears. Whining. Complaining. But there wasn't.
My two boys were overjoyed to pick out things they thought kids their age might like. They did it willingly and without complaint. They GOT it. I was so damn proud of them.
We completely filled up two baskets with toys, and Riley and Rory went through the check out and "paid" for everything. We piled it all into the back of Grandma's car and delivered it to a local Toys for Tots campaign a few nights later. They were so grateful.
I hope Riley and Rory understand just how selfless an act this was. And how happy they made so many little boys and girls, even though they won't get to see any of them enjoy the toys they picked out.
I love that we did this; I hope it becomes a tradition. Do something kind today; ‘tis always the season for giving.
Happy 2018, y’all!

As I said before, amazingly proud of all of you, especially the boys. What a great tradition to carry on for years!
