I’m not sure why this is, but Rory calls Nola by the same wrong name that Kate did when she was little: Doo-da. Riley called her Na-no until he learned how to say Nola, but the other two didn’t start out with the “n” sound, even though they both certainly knew how to say “NO.”
And every time we pass Nola and Nopsi’s house on our way to and from school, Rory says, “I want Doo-da.” I hear that phrase quite a lot in fact. (He has thus far refused to say anything consistent for Nopsi. He may eventually create his own version, or he could always use Riley’s “Natzi” or Kate’s “Doppy.”)
I think Nola is going to miss hearing Doo-Da when Rory finally learns the correct way to say her name. But perhaps Nugget will bring it back to life. Only time will tell.
Happy Thursday!

SUCH a sweet boy. I'm wondering if he will use Kate's name for me: Chew-pee!
