We celebrated Christmas with Nopsi’s family last Sunday at Aunt Dede and Uncle Dean’s house. We all gathered at 3pm for dinner, drinks, presents, and family time. The house looked so pretty; I especially loved the kids table Aunt Dede set up!
Aunt E and Uncle Jeff stayed home with Luke, but Nola and Nopsi brought Kate with them across the lake. The three cousins, along with Adyn and his new baby sister Aubrey, had a great time playing together. Rory also made a new friend in Taylor’s dog Kolston. I think he wanted to take him home with us.
The kids were overjoyed when it was finally time to open presents. They got some really great stuff: Riley was super excited about his new Lego set, Rory loved his alphabet dinosaur puzzle, and Kate is obsessed with her new scarf and hat.
Dinner was delicious; Aunt Dede even had Cane’s chicken for the kids, which they loved. Riley also enjoyed playing with his jingle bell slap bracelet. And he of course had the guys from his new Lego set all put together before we left.
Thanks for hosting, Aunt Dede and Uncle Dean; we had a great time!
Then on Wednesday afternoon, Dana and Diana brought Claire, Colin, and Alcee over for a kids’ Christmas party. I made a few festive treats for everyone to enjoy: a Christmas tree veggie tray, Santa strawberries, and rice krispie treat Christmas trees.
It was unfortunately rainy so our plan to play outside and then go see the Christmas lights at Lafreniere didn’t work out. But fun was had indoors instead: the ladies hung out in the kitchen while the kids ran around like they hadn’t seen each other in years. I especially like Alcee and Claire’s lightsaber and spear battle in their princess dresses. Their “fierce faces” crack me up.
I’m so glad these five kids are such good friends. They all get along really well, and everyone always has such a great time when we get together.
Thanks for coming over, y’all; we enjoyed sharing a little Christmas cheer with you!
