For those of you who are not as immersed in the world of Star Wars as the members of our household currently are, let me clue you in: today is Force Friday. Also known as the day when all of the new Star Wars merchandise is released on account of Star Wars: The Force Awakens coming out in December.
I know all of this because Riley is still just as obsessed with everything to do with Star Wars as he was in the spring. He got so much Star Wars stuff for his birthday and he’s played with practically nothing else since. We’ve had numerous lightsabers battles and built multiple Star Wars Lego sets. The two Darth Vader masks have also come out a lot; both boys enjoy them.
We have at least two more Lego sets to build, plus Riley has quite a lot of birthday money to spend at Toys ‘R Us. And with all of the new products now out, I can only imagine what he’ll pick out. However, Toys ‘R Us isn’t the only place hyping their new Star Wars items: check out what Rory and I found when we went to Target yesterday. Star Wars mania is everywhere!
I may be crazy, but I think my plan is to pick Riley up from school today and head straight to Toys ‘R Us to see what all of the new things are. It may be super crowded and crazy, but I think it’s cool that he’s so into Star Wars right around the time a new movie (and thus new toys) is being released.
It’s just too bad he’s not old enough to see it on the big screen when it comes out this winter.
